CHURCH ON THE STREET
CHURCH ON THE STREET
Church on the Street, a nonprofit organization since 1985, was actually birthed in my heart in 1978, when I began preaching on the Phoenix streets. In that same year, I rented three small houses for the homeless. Today, Church on the Street still ministers on the streets, the inner city, in the prisons and jails -- Pastor Walt
For men and women over the age of 18 who are not currently working. This discipleship is a sober living environment in which each individual will have roommates and share a 600 sq.ft. room. This is a free program to those who need it.
We have several outreaches that take the love of Jesus to people in need of the gospel. We offer food, clothing, music and a message of God's hope at every outreach. We invite you, family, and your friends to connect with us on an outreach!
Join us for authentic praise & worship at one of our church services. Pastor Walt Rattray or friend of Church on the Street preaches/teaches the Word of God. Sunday @ 10:30am & 6pm;
Thursday @ 7pm and Saturday @ 7pm
Daily we are feeding on the streets through outreaches, by our breakfast to women from the public shelter, by serving men from our mission after each church service and meals to our residents. Annually, we serve complete Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners. We also go forth with clothing and blankets for the cold winters.
God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. John 3:16 expresses, "God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that who ever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." He came to give us abundant life.
Sin is real. "Humanity is tainted by sin and is therefore separated from God. As a result, we cannot know God's wonderful plan for our lives." Romans 3:23 states "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Him, we have our sins forgiven and restore a right relationship with God. Romans 5:8 tells us, "God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
We must place our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; then we can know God's love & plan for our lives. John 1:12 describes this, "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name."
"Pastor Walt and Louene Rattray are some of the most faithful and hardworking Christians I know. They really are doing IT! It's amazing how God has used them for decades to reach the homeless of our city. I've known them for over 40 years now and am proud to call them my friends in the ministry."
"In our Christian Church world its easy to get caught up in the mundane aspects of "churchianity" and to forget that there's a world around us hurting and lost. Walt and Louene have never forgotten about those in our city who are less fortunate, the undesirables of our city."
